What is a Wellness Retreat really?

By definition, it’s travel for the purpose of promoting health and wellbeing through physical, psychological, or spiritual activities. It also means stepping back from the busyness of day-to-day life and slowing down, relaxing, and unwinding in solitude. These events are curated to expand your consciousness and regulate your nervous system incorporating biodynamic somatic practices, breathwork, meditation, yoga, sound healing and plant-based meals among community.

What makes our Retreats unique?

We partner with beautiful estates and a private chef to add an extra element of luxury to your experience. This is where the Swanky in Swanky Hippy Society really appears. We strive to bring you a dose of swankiness, while also connecting with nature to achieve a new level of wellness. Our retreats are not just meant to help you relax but also allow for deep healing and transformation.

A day at our retreats includes biodynamic somatic practices, group yoga and Somatic Mvmt sessions, meditations, sound healing and workshops, handcrafted plant-based meals made by our very own chef as well as time to connect with nature, one’s self, and other like-minded individuals.

Heather’s unique approach as a retreat leader combines all her knowledge and experience in biodynamic somatic therapy, yoga, movement, mindfulness, conscious living, shamanism, and more to provide a transformative journey. Each of her retreats is unique and offers a new pathway to deeper healing and understanding.

“We are retreating to that which we are, that which is awake, that which is our true being.”

Here is a recent study published by the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine showcasing the benefits of wellness retreats:

“In what is being billed as the first published scientific study of the effectiveness of wellness retreats, researchers from RMIT University in Australia said they found that a one-week retreat that includes educational, therapeutic and leisure activities along with an organic, mostly plant-based diet resulted in substantial improvements in everything from weight, blood pressure, and psychological health.”
